New Teaser Visual for Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian Season 2 Hints at Emotional Shift

The second season of Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian (Roshidere) is moving forward, highlighted by the release of a new teaser visual. This development follows the official confirmation of Season 2, which was announced shortly after the conclusion of the first season in September 2024. The new artwork provides a preview of the evolving relationship between the main characters, Alisa Mikhailovna Kujou (Alya) and Masachika Kuze.
The visual depicts Alya and Kuze against a summer seaside backdrop. Alya, who is typically reserved, is shown with a blush, suggesting a significant emotional progression in their dynamic. The summer setting and unique attire have led to discussions among the fanbase regarding a potential seasonal shift within the story's timeline. While a specific premiere month has not been disclosed, the production team has confirmed the Season 2 launch for 2026. Industry observers often anticipate April or July as potential broadcast windows for major anime sequels.

Studio Doga Kobo is returning to handle the animation, ensuring strong creative continuity. However, the sequel introduces changes in the directorial team: Hiroshi Haraguchi is stepping in as director, supported by Kim Seong-min as sub-director. Key creative roles remain stable: Yuka Yamada continues to lead series composition, Yuhei Murota maintains character design consistency (while also serving as chief animation director), and Hiroaki Tsutsumi returns to compose the musical score. Furthermore, the main voice actors, Sumire Uesaka (Alya) and Kohei Amasaki (Kuze), will reprise their roles, preserving the vocal chemistry established in the debut season.
The series is based on the light novel written by SunSunSun and illustrated by Momoco. The narrative centers on the linguistic dynamic between Alya, a highly capable transfer student, and her unassuming classmate, Kuze. Alya frequently uses Russian, her mother tongue, to express thoughts and feelings she would not voice in Japanese, unaware that Kuze is fluent in the language. The core of the romantic comedy stems from Kuze's efforts to respond subtly to these inadvertent confessions without revealing his secret. The franchise's global reach is expanding through Saho Tenamachi’s manga adaptation and Yen Press’s international publication of the light novels. The newest visual reinforces the production’s commitment to delivering a high-quality continuation of this distinctive love story in 2026.
