Hana-Kimi English Dub Cast Announced; Premieres Alongside Japanese Broadcast This Sunday

Crunchyroll confirmed the English dub premiere for the highly anticipated Hana-Kimi anime adaptation, setting it for a simultaneous release with the Japanese broadcast. The SimulDub is set to drop this Sunday, January 4, meaning fans will not need to wait for subtitles to catch the first episode.

The main English voice lineup for the adaptation was also revealed. Katelyn Barr steps into the lead role as Mizuki Ashiya, the protagonist who cross-dresses to enroll in an all-boys academy. High jumper Izumi Sano, Mizuki’s idol, will be voiced by Wyatt Baker.

Dallas Reid handles Shūichi Nakatsu, while Reagan Murdock voices Hokuto Umeda. Joshua Waters voices Minamo Nanba. Supporting cast members include Justin Briner as Nakao, Tyson Rinehart as Nihonbashi, and Ben Stegmair as Noe.

Jad Saxton is directing the English localization, with Susie Nixon producing and Heather Walker handling the scripts.

Animation studio Signal.MD is leading the Japanese production under director Natsuki Takemura. Takao Yoshioka is managing the series scripts, and Masaru Yokoyama provides the music score.

The series officially debuts on Tokyo MX at 9:30 p.m. JST (7:30 a.m. EST) this Sunday, streaming globally on Crunchyroll. YOASOBI performs both the opening theme, "Adrena," and the ending theme, "Baby." The first episode previously held its world premiere back at Anime NYC in August.

The adaptation covers the classic shojo manga by the late Hisaya Nakajo. The story follows Mizuki as she navigates life at Osaka Gakuen while attempting to keep her gender a secret to be near Izumi Sano. Viz Media previously handled the North American release of the source material.
