Beloved Shojo Classic Hana-Kimi Sets January 4 Premiere Date, Confirms YOASOBI Theme Songs in Stunning New Trailer

The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Hisaya Nakajo’s seminal shojo manga, Hana-Kimi (also known as Hanazakari no Kimitachi e), has officially confirmed its premiere date. The series is scheduled to begin broadcasting on January 4, 2026. This announcement was accompanied by the release of a new trailer, which provided fresh key visuals and revealed a significant musical collaboration for the production.

The production team has secured the services of the globally recognized Japanese music duo, YOASOBI, to compose and perform the primary theme songs. YOASOBI, known for their contributions to major anime titles such as BEASTARS and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, will contribute both the opening and closing tracks. The opening theme is titled "Adrena," while the closing theme is named "Baby." This musical partnership is expected to enhance the romantic comedy's emotional resonance and appeal to a contemporary audience.

The narrative of Hana-Kimi centers on Mizuki Ashiya, a resourceful protagonist who enrolls in an all-male academy by adopting a male disguise. The story explores compelling themes of identity, deep friendship, and the complexities of youthful romance within this unique setting.

Additionally, Yuichiro Umehara is cast as the charismatic Minami Nanba.
