Brain's Base Sets Premiere Date for 'Yowayowa Sensei' Anime Adaptation, Revealing Key Staff and Cast

The manga series Yowayowa Sensei, created by Kamio Fukuchi, is officially receiving a full-fledged anime adaptation. The highly anticipated series is scheduled to premiere in April 2026, positioning it as a significant title for the upcoming spring anime season. This production blends romantic comedy with ecchi elements, promising a unique viewing experience.
The Story of Hiyori Hiwamura
The narrative centers on Hiyori Hiwamura, a newly appointed high school teacher. Hiyori possesses a notably weak voice and frail stamina, characteristics that often lead to comical misunderstandings among her students. Despite her delicate demeanor, she is ironically misconstrued as a terrifyingly strict disciplinarian, earning her the ominous nickname, 'Ms. Scary.'
The core emotional focus of the series explores Hiyori’s unwavering commitment to her students' well-being, particularly through her developing relationship with Akihito Abikura. Akihito is the sole perceptive student who manages to look past the intimidating facade and recognize the genuinely kind and gentle spirit beneath her surface.
Animation Studio and Key Production Team
Bringing this beloved story to life is the renowned animation house, Brain's Base, which is recognized for its work on the inaugural season of My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU. Guiding the production is Director Hiroshi Ishiodori, known for his directorial roles on titles such as Peach Girl and RIN-NE 3. Supervising the overarching narrative flow is Yoshifumi Fukushima, who is handling series composition, while Naoki Aisaka is tasked with adapting Fukuchi's character designs for dynamic motion.
The auditory experience is in capable hands, with Akifumi Tada and Rina Tayama composing the music. This duo has previously collaborated on scores for series including Skip Beat! and Vampire Dormitory.
Confirmed Voice Cast and Manga Status
Excitement for the adaptation is further solidified by the confirmation of the main voice cast. Marika Kōno will reprise her role from the earlier promotional video, stepping back into the shoes of the titular teacher, Hiyori Hiwamura. Joining her is Kakeru Hatano, who will voice the insightful student, Akihito Abikura.

The original manga, which began serialization in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in November 2022, is nearing its conclusion. The 15th volume is scheduled for publication by November 2025.
Manga creator Kamio Fukuchi recently shared profound gratitude regarding the adaptation, expressing hope that the anime will successfully introduce Hiyori and Akihito's endearing story to an even broader international audience. This announcement was accompanied by the release of a new teaser visual, promising fans a delightful mix of romantic moments, humor, and deep connection upon its premiere next spring.
