Full Production Details Emerge for Highly Anticipated BL Isekai Anime 'The Other World's Books Depend on the Bean Counter'

The highly anticipated anime adaptation of the beloved boys-love fantasy series, Isekai no Sata wa Shachiku Shidai, officially translated as Isekai Office Worker: The Other World's Books Depend on the Bean Counter, is preparing for its global debut. This series promises a unique combination of corporate strategy and otherworldly romance.
Ahead of its scheduled January 2026 premiere, the production committee has released substantial new information, including a main promotional video, key staff appointments, and the official theme song lineup, significantly increasing fan anticipation.
Production Team and Narrative Focus
The television series is being spearheaded by Studio Deen and directed by Shinji Ishihira, bringing Wakatsu Yatsuki’s original light novels, illustrated by Kikka Ohashi, to the screen. The narrative centers on Seiichirō Kondō, an unassuming accountant whose life changes drastically when he is unexpectedly transported to a mystical fantasy realm.
Instead of immediately seeking adventure, Seiichirō’s pragmatic nature leads him to swiftly secure employment. This approach merges the escapism inherent in the isekai genre with compelling workplace drama and developing romantic tension.
The newly confirmed production roster indicates a strong commitment to visual quality. Masaki Mayuzumi joins the team as Art Director, complemented by Imari Katsuragi handling Color Design, and Akira Shimozaki taking the crucial role of Director of Photography. These additions are expected to ensure a polished and visually stunning presentation for the series.
Theme Songs and Advanced Screening
The main promotional video, which premiered at the Animate Girls Festival 2025, provided fans with a substantial look at the animation style and officially introduced the theme music. The rock band kobore provides the driving energy with the opening theme, "Magic," while Win Morisaki delivers the emotional resonance with the ending theme, "Back to Back."

Further building anticipation, an exclusive advanced screening event is scheduled for December 11, 2025, in Tokyo. Attendees at this event will be among the first to view the initial three episodes of the series.
Voice Cast and International Distribution
The stellar voice cast features Kent Itō lending his talents to the protagonist, Seiichirō Kondō, alongside Tomoaki Maeno as Aresh Indrak and Seiichirō Yamashita as Norbert.
The original light novel series (2019-2021) and its subsequent manga adaptation by Kazuki Irodori have achieved significant success, boasting over 1.4 million copies sold worldwide. International accessibility is secured through Yen Press, which holds the English licenses for both the novel and manga, and Crunchyroll, which will stream the anime across North America, Europe, and Asia. This adaptation is positioned to be a major highlight of the 2026 anime calendar, appealing strongly to enthusiasts of fantasy, office settings, and boys-love storytelling.
