Shonen Jump Sensation 'Super Psychic Policeman Chojo' Unleashes Anime Adaptation in 2026!

Shun Numa’s acclaimed manga series, Super Psychic Policeman Chojo, is confirmed to receive a television anime adaptation, with its premiere scheduled for 2026. This announcement included a teaser visual and the revelation of the core production team.

Arvo Animation, known for works such as Kowloon Generic Romance, will produce the adaptation. Junichi Yamamoto, recognized for his direction in titles like Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion, will serve as director. Hayashi Mori, whose contributions include Cells at Work! Code Black, is responsible for series composition and scriptwriting. Character designs are being handled by Masakatsu Sasaki, known for his work on Tonikaku Kawaii.

Super Psychic Policeman Chojo began as a one-shot before its serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in February 2024. The series combines supernatural elements, buddy cop tropes, and slapstick comedy. The narrative follows rookie police officer Nao Ippongi, who partners with the powerful yet often unmotivated psychic policeman Meguru Chojo. Despite Chojo's unconventional methods, the duo forms an effective partnership, navigating the West Chinjuku district to combat crime and protect Ippongi’s family dojo from yakuza threats.

The series has received critical recognition, including securing third place in the Next Manga Awards 2025’s Print Manga category. With its eighth volume completed in September 2025 and an English license secured by Viz Media, Super Psychic Policeman Chojo has established a global presence. The upcoming anime adaptation is expected to introduce the series to a wider international audience, offering a blend of comedy, psychic battles, and the development of an unlikely partnership.
