Shima Shinya, the mangaka recognized for works such as Glitch and Lost Lad London, is set to launch a new series titled Hai Kochira Kaiki-bu Desu (Yes, This is the Mystery Solving Club). This horror manga is anticipated to feature the intricate plots and atmospheric storytelling characteristic of Shinya's previous works. The series is scheduled to begin serialization in the November issue of Shueisha's Ultra Jump magazine, with its grand debut on November 19, 2025.

Readers can expect a narrative centered on a mysterious duo of indeterminate age, whose intellect and deductive skills are instrumental in resolving a series of perplexing and often supernatural enigmas. This new project is expected to further establish Shinya's reputation for crafting complex, suspense-driven narratives within the genre.

Shinya's contributions to the seinen manga landscape include Lost Lad London, an acclaimed crime suspense story. This series chronicled an investigation into the murder of London's mayor, presenting perspectives from a university student and a detective. It was serialized from December 2019 to May 2021 in Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Beam magazine, concluding with three volumes. The series received the 25th Japan Media Art Festival New Face Award for Manga in 2022 and was published in English by Yen Press.

Following this, Glitch continued Shinya's narrative style. It was serialized in the same magazine from July 2021 to June 2023, compiled into four volumes, and also made available to English-speaking audiences through Yen Press. While the earlier series Void: No. Nine concluded its run in 2025, Shinya's diverse portfolio consistently demonstrates a talent for weaving tales rich in mystery and psychological depth.

With Hai Kochira Kaiki-bu Desu, enthusiasts can anticipate another gripping manga that combines supernatural elements with investigative themes, reinforcing Shima Shinya's position in contemporary horror and mystery manga.
