Majutsushi Kunon wa Mieteiru Unveils Main Staff, Star-Studded Cast, and Teaser Trailer for Highly Anticipated Winter 2026 Premiere

Anticipation is high among anime enthusiasts as the adaptation of Majutsushi Kunon wa Mieteiru, also known as Kunon the Sorcerer Can See Through, is scheduled for its premiere in January 2026. The production committee has recently released key details, including the main staff and an expanded cast list, providing further insight into the upcoming magical series.

Director Hideaki Ōba is leading this fantasy project, which is based on Umikaze Minamino's light novel. The series originally began on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in August 2021 and was later published by Kadokawa Books in March 2022, with illustrations by Laruha. Broadcasts are planned for Tokyo MX, BS Asahi, and WOWOW.

Voice Cast and Production Staff

The voice cast features a notable ensemble of characters. Esteemed voice actress Saori Hayami will portray the protagonist, Kunon Gurion, a young sorcerer with an extraordinary ambition. She is joined by Maaya Uchida as Iko Round and Akari Kitō in the role of Mirika Huglia, the ninth princess and Kunon's fiancée, a significant character in his narrative.

Behind the scenes, Yuki Enatsu is responsible for the series composition and scripts. Character designs are a collaborative effort by Yōko Satō and Toshimitsu Kobayashi, aiming for a visually impactful adaptation. Shunsuke Takizawa of TRYTONELABO is composing the musical score.

A recent teaser trailer offered a glimpse into the anime's fantasy world and its characters, suggesting immersive storytelling and character development.

Story Synopsis

At its core, Majutsushi Kunon wa Mieteiru follows the journey of Kunon Gurion, a sorcerer born without sight, who holds an ambitious dream: to use magic to perceive his surroundings. This goal drives him to surpass his peers and even his own teacher, eventually earning him the chance to train under a powerful mentor. The series explores themes of ambition, perseverance in the face of challenges, and the transformative power of magic.

Licensing and Manga Adaptation

Adding to the global interest, Yen Press has acquired the licensing rights for both the light novel and manga adaptations for English-speaking audiences. The fifth light novel volume is expected in January 2026, followed by the second manga volume in March 2026. The manga adaptation, illustrated by La-na, began serialization in Monthly Comic Alive in April 2022.

With a new trailer and the addition of Akari Kitō to the cast, anticipation for Kunon the Sorcerer Can See Through's debut this winter season is increasing, promising a memorable magical experience.
