Chained Soldier Season 2 Unveils Striking Walwala Pilipenko Character Art Ahead of January 2026 Premiere

The second season of the dark fantasy anime "Chained Soldier" is scheduled to premiere in January 2026. Recent character artwork for Walwala (Varvara) Pilipenko, the leader of the Anti-Demon Corps' 8th Unit, has been released, providing a preview of the expanded narrative.
Season 2 will feature Masafumi Tamura, known for his work on "The Misfit of Demon King Academy," as the director. Keiya Nakano is responsible for the character designs. Animation production has transitioned from Seven Arcs to Passione and Hayabusa Film, indicating a potential enhancement in visual presentation for the series' dark fantasy elements.

Walwala Pilipenko, characterized by a composed demeanor and braided blonde hair, is expected to be a significant character. The voice actor for Walwala has not yet been announced. The upcoming season will also introduce additional characters, including Fubuki Azuma, Yakumo Ezo, and Mira Kamitake, which are intended to add depth to the "Chained Soldier" storyline.
Returning voice actors include Yuya Hirose as Yuki Wakura, Akari Kito as Kyoka Uzen, and Maaya Uchida as Tenka Izumo. Yasuhiro Nakanishi is returning as the screenwriter to maintain narrative consistency. A premiere trailer, released in October 2025, confirmed the January 2026 launch date and provided glimpses of the new characters. These production changes aim to further develop the series' dark fantasy themes, introduce a more diverse cast, and improve overall production quality.
