Voice actor Yuki Kaji has officially joined the cast of the ongoing TV anime Dark Moon: The Blood Altar, taking on the role of Chris. This casting confirmation landed on January 23, just two weeks after the series began airing its broadcast schedule on January 10.
Kaji will voice Chris, who is Sooha's childhood friend. Although Chris passed away young, he continues to appear to Sooha at Decelis Academy. The specialized night school is designed to keep vampires and werewolves at bay, but Sooha is hiding her own supernatural abilities while dealing with the fallout of being blamed for Chris's death.
The adaptation of HYBE and ENHYPEN's webtoon mixes urban fantasy elements with a teen romance plot. The cast features Fūka Izumi as Sooha, Kikunosuke Toya as the vampire Heli, and Shūgo Nakamura as Jino. Shunichi Toki was previously confirmed as Shion, and Chiaki Kobayashi voices Noa.

Animation duties are handled by TROYCA, with Shōko Shiga directing the series. Tōko Machida is managing series composition, and Masami Inomata is responsible for character designs. Production involves Aniplex and Crunchyroll, among others.
Crunchyroll is streaming the series globally and offering a same-day English dub. The original webtoon concluded its 71 chapters in 2023, and Ize Press is set to release the source novel in print this December. The anime continues its Saturday broadcast schedule.
