The anime adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa’s Yomi no Tsugai (Daemons of the Shadow Realm) is officially set to premiere on April 4, 2026. Bones Film confirmed the release date this week, dropping a new promotional video that also expanded the voice cast lineup and revealed the full creative staff.
Masahiro Andō, known for directing Sword of the Stranger, is leading the project. Noboru Takagi is handling series composition, with Nobuhiro Arai adapting Arakawa’s original character designs for the screen. Kenichiro Suehiro is scoring the music for the series.
The production has secured two major musical acts. Vaundy will perform the opening theme, titled "Tobu Toki" (Time to Fly). The ending theme, "Tobou yo" (Let's Fly), comes from yama, who previously provided an ending song for Ranking of Kings.

Kenshō Ono and Yume Miyamoto were previously confirmed as the leads, Yuru and Asa, respectively. The supporting cast now includes Yūichi Nakamura, Misaki Kuno, Rikiya Koyama, Takako Honda, Miyuri Shimabukuro, and Junichi Suwabe in major roles.
The story centers on a young hunter whose peaceful mountain life is destroyed when military forces raid his village. He soon uncovers a terrible truth concerning his sister, which pulls him into a brutal conflict against supernatural entities known as Daemons. These powerful beings are linked in pairs to human hosts. Fans should expect the same emotional weight and intense action Arakawa delivered in Fullmetal Alchemist.
Yomi no Tsugai is serialized in Monthly Shounen Gangan. Crunchyroll has confirmed global streaming rights for the series starting with the premiere.
