Author Jougi Shiraishi confirmed a movie sequel for The Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina during the recent GA Fes 2026 event. This announcement solidifies the major project fans have anticipated since the franchise's fifth-anniversary push last year.
The film is set to continue the narrative immediately following the conclusion of the 2020 television series. Voice actress Kaede Hondo is confirmed to reprise her role as Elaina, having already recorded new lines for the reveal teaser trailer shown at the event.
Character illustrator Azure also provided a fresh piece of artwork to mark the official announcement.
The original light novel series, published by SB Creative under the GA Novel imprint since 2016, remains active. The 25th volume is scheduled for release this March in Japan. Yen Press handles the English publication.

The original TV anime adaptation was animated by studio C2C, with Toshiyuki Kubooka directing. While the sequel is confirmed, specific production details for the movie are still missing at the time of reporting. Information regarding the animation staff, the exact production timeline, and a theatrical release window has not yet been disclosed.
