J.C. Staff's adaptation of the popular shojo manga Tamon's B-Side is officially locked in for a 13-episode run this Winter 2026 season. The series began streaming on Crunchyroll this week, with new episodes dropping every Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. PT. Assuming the schedule holds steady, the finale is currently set to air around March 25.

The anime adapts Yuki Shiwasu's manga, which centers on Utage Kinoshita, a dedicated fan whose devotion leads her to become the house cleaner for her beloved idol, Tamon Fukuhara. The core conflict is quickly established when Utage discovers Tamon is completely different offstage: nervous, awkward, and stressed, a stark contrast to his polished idol persona. The premiere immediately leaned into the comedy derived from fan expectations versus reality.
Director Chika Nagaoka is maintaining a quick pace, helping the adaptation avoid some of the more familiar genre pitfalls. J.C. Staff is providing sharp animation that supports the comedic timing and character reactions. Saori Hayami handles Utage's intense devotion, while Kakeru Hatano voices Tamon's effective dual identity.
The source material has proven highly successful for Hakusensha, having pushed past 1.75 million copies sold by the end of last year. The manga has also earned recognition on several key industry recommendation lists. Fans are connecting strongly with the premise of a devoted supporter discovering her idol’s hidden, less glamorous side, setting the stage for the expected romance.
