Star-Studded Cast and Thrilling New Trailers Unveiled for 'Kono Hon wo Nusumu Mono wa' Anime Film

The anime film adaptation of Nowaki Fukamidori's fantasy mystery novel, Kono Hon wo Nusumu Mono wa (Whoever Steals This Book), is generating excitement with the revelation of its voice cast and new trailers. The Japanese theatrical premiere is scheduled for December 26, 2025. The official film website has released both a 60-second and a 30-second preview, offering glimpses into the movie's atmosphere and central mystery.
Voice Cast Revealed
Rin Kataoka will voice Mifuyu Mikura, the high school protagonist. Mifuyu's life changes when she inherits a library from her great-grandfather and becomes involved in a fantastical adventure as books vanish and a curse transforms her town into story worlds. Sora Tamaki voices Mashiro. The cast also includes Nao Tōyama as Hirune Mikura, Junichi Suwabe as Ayumu Mikura, Shizuka Itō as Keiko Yosano, Shimba Tsuchiya as Takafumi Haruta, and Romi Park as Tamaki Mikura. Veteran voice actors such as Shigeru Chiba as Junichirou Kaname, Ryouta Suzuki as Tanbi Che, Reina Ueda as Natsume Harada, Tomokazu Seki as Osamu Kikuchida, and Rie Takahashi as Shiori Haruta are also part of the ensemble.

Story and Production Details
The new trailers feature "Share," the film's theme song performed by YUKI, formerly of Judy and Mary. The story follows Mifuyu, who is initially indifferent to literature, as she works to solve the mystery of the stolen books and break the curse on her hometown. With Mashiro's help, she journeys through various narrative landscapes, uncovering secrets about her family's past and the curse's origins.
Kagome Company is producing the film, with Daiki Fukuoka directing and Yasuhiro Nakanishi handling the series composition. Keiko Kurosawa is responsible for character design, and Michiru Oshima is composing the score. The original novel, published by Kadokawa in 2020, led to a manga adaptation by Kakeru Sora, serialized in Young Ace from December 2021 to March 2023. Both the novel and manga have been licensed for English release by Yen Press. This cinematic adaptation aims to be a visually engaging and emotionally rich experience, combining mystery, fantasy, and adventure to explore the power of storytelling and human connections.
