Star Detective Precure! Reveals Full Cast, Staff Lineup, Theme Artists Ahead of February 1 Premiere

The 23rd installment of the long-running Precure franchise, Star Detective Precure! (Meitantei Precure!), is set to debut on February 1. The official website launched recently, confirming the premiere date on ABC TV and TV Asahi in Japan. This announcement also detailed the main cast, key creative staff, and theme song artists, alongside a new commercial previewing the series' central detective focus.

The core trio of Cures was revealed. Hikari Senga stars as Cure Answer / Anna Akechi, a middle schooler pulled from the year 2027 who cannot tolerate lies or ignore anyone in distress. Kaede Hondo voices Cure Mystic / Mikuru Kobayashi, a second-year student aiming to be a top detective who brings significant case-solving knowledge despite being clumsy.

Nao Tōyama rounds out the team as Cure Arcana Shadow / Ruruka Moria. This Pretty Cure is unconventional and is involved with a group known only as “Phantom Thieves,” a plot point the series intends to explore. The show marks the first time the franchise has fully committed to a detective theme and introduces a new purple-themed lead Cure to the roster.

Kōji Kawasaki, who previously directed episodes for Hugtto! Precure, is taking the helm as series director at Toei Animation. Isao Murayama is handling series composition, suggesting a strong emphasis on puzzle-solving narratives based on his past work on Witchy Precure! and Star Twinkle Precure. Character designs are credited to Akane Yano, known for The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You, providing a clean aesthetic for the detective-themed uniforms.

The promotional video offered brief snippets of the new theme songs and showcased the girls transforming and navigating mystery-filled city environments. Star Detective Precure! is slated for a typical yearlong run in the established Sunday morning slot.
