Shojo Hit 'Sorry About My Younger Brothers!' Confirms 2026 Anime Debut with Cast and Studio Reveal

The highly anticipated television anime adaptation of Akira Ozaki's shojo manga, Uchi no Otouto-domo ga Sumimasen (officially translated as Sorry About My Younger Brothers!), is officially scheduled for a 2026 premiere. The comprehensive announcement, delivered on December 6, 2025, included a compelling teaser promotional video, a fresh teaser visual, and the critical reveal of the main voice cast and production crew.
Since its launch in Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret magazine in January 2020, the manga has established itself as a commercial success. As of July 2025, the series boasts a circulation exceeding 2.8 million copies across its 14 compiled volumes. The narrative centers on high school student Ito Narita, who anticipates a peaceful, harmonious existence following her mother's remarriage. However, her life takes a sharp, chaotic turn when she realizes she must now share a roof with four remarkably attractive, yet undeniably eccentric, younger stepbrothers. The manga’s successful formula, which blends heartfelt family dynamics, lighthearted chaos, and engaging romantic comedy, will now transition from the page to the screen, bringing the lively drama of the Narita household to a global audience.
Main Cast and Production Details Revealed
Leading the vocal charge for the TV adaptation are established industry talents. Naomi Ozora, known for her roles in series such as The Idolm@ster and Gabriel DropOut, steps into the role of the protagonist, Ito Narita. Joining her is Toshiki Masuda (known for Uta no Prince-sama and Koroshi Ai), who will voice her stepbrother, Gen Narita. Masuda enthusiastically shared his commitment to the role, praising Ozora’s characterization of Ito and expressing his ambition to authentically convey the complex, emotional, and often hilarious bonds shared among the siblings.

The production bench features top-tier talent, with Lay-duce handling the animation. Hitoshi Nanba (known for Golden Kamuy and Tomo-chan Is a Girl!) will serve as director, guiding the visual execution of the series. Megumi Shimizu (My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!) is tasked with series composition, ensuring narrative coherence. Character designs are a collaborative effort between Shiori Hiraiwa (Tomo-chan Is a Girl!) and Yōko Fukushima (#COMPASS 2.0 ANIMATION PROJECT). The musical score will be crafted by Gin from Busted Rose (who worked on Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro). Further technical support is provided by sound director Satoshi Motoyama and the sound production studio INSPION Edge.
This upcoming anime follows a notable live-action film adaptation that premiered in Japanese cinemas on December 6, 2024, featuring Mei Hata and Ryuto Sakuma of HiHi Jets. With adaptations across both live-action and animated mediums, Uchi no Otouto-domo ga Sumimasen continues its rapid expansion across the Japanese pop culture landscape. Fans are eagerly awaiting additional disclosures, including the precise broadcast schedule and the remaining cast list, as the highly anticipated 2026 debut draws near.
