The 71st Shogakukan Manga Awards results are now official, confirming five titles that took home the bronze statuettes and the 1 million yen prize. This year’s winners showcase a significant mix of genres, but the real news for fans is the extensive list of confirmed anime adaptations tied to these titles.
The five winning manga were Fuuta Kimura’s Unmei no Makimodoshi (Fate Rewinder), Ryohei Tamura’s sci-fi entry Cosmos, Yukinobu Tatsu’s hit occult comedy DAN DA DAN, Natsumi Eguchi’s Dekin no Mogura: The Earthbound Mole, and Keigo Shinzo’s Hirayasumi.
Adaptation news is already moving quickly for the winners. DAN DA DAN is currently airing its first TV anime season and already has a second confirmed for 2027. Dekin no Mogura also recently received an anime adaptation.

Looking ahead, the remaining three titles are also locked in for animation. Studio Bones is handling a film adaptation for Unmei no Makimodoshi, while Production +h is producing the TV anime for Hirayasumi. Cosmos is also slated for an adaptation, though specific details regarding its format and release are pending at the time of reporting.
Fans outside Japan can track down English translations for all five winners.
The awards ceremony also honored legendary artist Moto Hagio (The Poe Clan) with the Special Jury Prize. Shogakukan has run these awards since 1956, but they shifted structure in 2023, dropping the old shōnen/shōjo divisions to judge everything in one pool based purely on merit. Taiyo Matsumoto and Shiho Takase were part of the judging panel for this edition.
