
The TV anime adaptation of Shibou Yuugi de Meshi wo Kuu. (SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table) confirmed new supporting voice actors and released its main promotional video. This major update gives fans a focused look at the deadly 'Scrap Building Game' mechanics and the escalating tension within the mansion setting.
The PV showcased the claustrophobic atmosphere and highlighted the desperation of the players. Five new cast members were announced: Shizuka Itou joins as Hakushi, Haruka Oribe voices Azuma, Rio Tsuchiya is Mishiro, Yume Miyamoto plays Airi, and Natsuko Abe takes the role of Moegi.
The footage also provided more screen time for previously announced characters, including Keito (Wakana Maruoka), Kotoha (Shion Wakayama), and Chie (Rui Tanabe). The PV confirmed that LIN from MADKID is performing the opening track, titled "¬Ersterbend."
Studio Deen is handling the animation production for the action-suspense series. Souta Ueno is directing the series, with Rintarou Ikeda managing series composition. Eri Osada is handling character designs, and Junichi Matsumoto is composing the music.

The series adapts the light novel by Yuushi Ukai, featuring illustrations by Necometal, published under Kadokawa’s MF Bunko J imprint. Ukai launched the novel in late 2022. Volume 8 shipped in February 2025, and Volume 9 is scheduled for release on January 23.
The core story centers on Yuuki, a professional death game player. She wakes up trapped in a manor with five other women and must compete in high-stakes matches where the prize money is literally her means of survival.
