The TV anime adaptation of SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table has confirmed four additional voice actors as the Winter 2026 series continues its run. Wakana Maruoka is set to voice the character Keito, while Shion Wakayama joins the cast as Kotoha. These two join previously announced cast members Rio Tsuchiya and Chiyuki Miura.
The production also released a new promotional video focusing specifically on the intense "Scrap Building" game, a key death game scenario featured in the narrative.

Studio DEEN is handling the animation for the series, which is based on the light novel series written by Yūshi Ukai and illustrated by Nekometal. The show premiered on Tokyo MX on January 7 with an extended 60-minute opening episode. Subsequent broadcasts air at 11:30 p.m. ABC TV is also carrying the series, and WOWOW began airing it shortly after on January 13.
Global distribution is managed by Crunchyroll, which streams the series with an English dub, and Netflix, both handling the release on the same day as the Japanese broadcast.
Director Sōta Ueno, known for work on Days With My Stepsister, is helming the project. Series composition is handled by Rintarou Ikeda of The Seven Deadly Sins: Dragon's Judgement. Eri Osada is credited with character design, and Noriyoshi Konuma serves as the sound director. LIN from MADKID performs the opening theme, "Ersterbend," and Chiai Fujikawa provides the ending theme, "Inori."
The source material secured significant recognition even before the anime premiered, topping Takarajimasha's 2024 Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! rankings for New Titles. The light novel remains active, with the ninth volume slated for release on January 23, 2026. The manga adaptation, illustrated by Banzai Kotobuki Daienkai, runs in Kadokawa's Comp Ace and will release its fifth collected volume on the same date.
