The upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway film, The Sorcery of Nymph Circe, just received a special crossover illustration featuring characters from Sgt. Frog. The artwork was drawn by Sgt. Frog creator Mine Yoshizaki to promote the upcoming New Keroro Gunso the Movie. This unique piece dropped yesterday, February 9, immediately generating buzz among fans of both franchises.
The illustration directly reinterprets a key visual from Hathaway, substituting the serious cast with the chaotic platoon. Keroro steps into the lead role of Hathaway Noa, the Mafty leader actively plotting against the Federation in U.C. 0105. Tamama replaces Gigi Andalusia, the mysterious girl whose strange powers complicate Hathaway’s mission.
Giroro takes the place of Federation officer Kenneth Sleg, who is preparing counter-operations to crush Mafty. Kururu swaps in for the rear mobile suit, while Dororo’s face appears where the mech’s mechanical fingers reach out toward Hathaway’s position.
This collaboration is a natural fit, given that both series share Sunrise as their primary production studio. Yoshizaki’s drawing successfully blends the frogs' signature chaotic energy with the gritty mecha atmosphere of Gundam's Universal Century timeline.

The Hathaway film continues the story of Hathaway Noa, the son of Bright Noa from the One Year War era, as he leads terrorist strikes under the alias Mafty. The plot centers on his preparations for an air raid targeting the Adelaide conference, which is complicated by Gigi's eerie influence and Kenneth's tactical counterplans.
The film’s main voice cast includes Kensho Ono as Hathaway, Reina Ueda as Gigi, Junichi Suwabe as Kenneth Sleg, and Soma Saito as Lane Aim. Sunrise produced the Hathaway films, just as they handled the original Sgt. Frog anime adaptation. This special illustration serves to hype the new Sgt. Frog movie while bridging the gap for fans who follow both properties.
