Sanda Anime Unveils Action-Packed Trailer, October 2025 Premiere for Dystopian Santa Tale

Get ready for a holiday season unlike any other! The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Paru Itagaki's critically acclaimed manga, Sanda, has just unveiled its electrifying main trailer and a captivating new visual. Fans can mark their calendars for October 3, 2025, when this distinctive series makes its grand debut, promising a fresh, action-packed take on the Santa Claus mythos.
The narrative transports viewers to a near-future Japan in the year 2080, a world where the joyous traditions of Christmas have all but vanished, overshadowed by a stark decline in the child population. Amidst this somber backdrop, we meet Kazushige Sanda, an unassuming 14-year-old. His life takes an extraordinary turn when he unearths a startling truth: he is the reincarnation of Santa Claus, a legendary figure bound by a powerful curse.
The catalyst for Sanda's destiny arrives unexpectedly through his classmate, Shiori Fuyumura. Her accidental intervention shatters the ancient curse, bestowing upon Sanda the remarkable ability to transform into a formidable, muscular Santa figure simply by donning a red sweater. However, this newfound power thrusts him into a world where Santa is not a symbol of cheer, but a perceived threat.
The series masterfully weaves supernatural action with poignant social commentary, exploring themes of a shrinking youth demographic and the erosion of cherished cultural traditions. The recently released trailer offers a tantalizing glimpse into the anime's dynamic world, showcasing intense, stylized fight sequences where the buff Santa unleashes powerful punches.

It also introduces pivotal characters, including the enigmatic Hifumi Oshibu, a 92-year-old school principal who maintains a surprisingly youthful appearance, voiced by the veteran Toshihiko Seki. Adding to the intrigue is Saburo Yagiuda, a relentless Santa-hunting specialist, brought to life by the renowned Hiroaki Hirata.
The auditory experience is further elevated by yama's opening theme, "Adultic Children," and Soshi Sakiyama's closing theme, "Diary." Under the expert hand of the acclaimed Science SARU studio, Sanda is set to dazzle with its signature dynamic animation style, promising a visually stunning spectacle.
With the original manga having successfully concluded its 16-volume run in October 2024, and its English release by Titan Books scheduled for September 2025, anticipation for the anime is at an all-time high. Sanda is poised to deliver a unique blend of fantasy, action, and profound social themes, ensuring it will be a truly unforgettable anime experience.
