Yūji Nakamura, the creator behind the hit series Rokudo's Bad Girls, is returning to serialization with a new manga, Hanzō to Jūsan-nin no Kunoichi-tachi. The new series is set to launch in Weekly Shōnen Champion on January 15. The news was confirmed in the magazine's combined fourth and fifth 2026 issue, which hit stands on December 25.
Nakamura's latest work shifts focus to Hanzō, a solitary war orphan who finds himself embroiled in intense battles against a group of strong, cute kunoichi, or female ninjas.
This marks Nakamura’s first major serialization since he concluded Rokudo's Bad Girls in April 2021. That previous series ran in Weekly Shōnen Champion starting in June 2016 and wrapped up after 26 volumes.

Rokudo's Bad Girls followed Tōsuke Rokudō, a shy high school student who inherited a mysterious mark from his grandfather’s scroll, allowing him to pacify delinquent girls and achieve the peaceful school life he desired. The anime adaptation of Rokudo's Bad Girls aired in 2023, running from April through June on Tokyo MX. Satelight handled the animation production.
For fans reading in English, Orange Inc.'s emaqi service made the entire digital run available in October 2023.
The same Weekly Shōnen Champion issue also announced other upcoming titles. Tatsuya Ara’s soccer manga, Campioni, began serialization on December 25. Nyo-n’s horror omnibus featuring Mashiro-kun is scheduled to debut on January 22. This horror title is supervised by Nijisanji VTuber Mashiro Meme.
Hanzō to Jūsan-nin no Kunoichi-tachi appears ready to deliver Nakamura's established blend of action and charm, now centered on a ninja theme.
