The TV anime adaptation of A Livid Lady's Guide to Getting Even: How I Crushed My Homeland with My Mighty Grimoires officially confirmed its broadcast window today, revealing the series is set to debut in July 2026. The announcement arrived alongside the first teaser visual and promotional video for the dark fantasy revenge project.

Studio Comet is handling the animation production. The core staff includes Naoyuki Kuzuya directing the series, with Mitsutaka Hirota managing series composition duties. Sayaka Anezaki is credited with the character designs, while Satoshi Hono and Karin Nakano are composing the music score.

Saori Onishi is set to voice the lead character, Elizabeth Leiston, also known as Ellie Leis. The new teaser PV quickly established the premise of her intense grudge against the Kingdom of Haldoria, showing Elizabeth being publicly dumped by the crown prince and subsequently jailed. The clip featured her delivering a sharp line that summarizes her intent: "You betrayed me. Now it’s your turn to pay."

The source material, penned by Hagure Metabo, began as a web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in October 2020. Hobby Japan’s HJ Novels imprint publishes the light novel series, which currently spans seven volumes as of August 2025. The manga adaptation, illustrated by Oono Imo, has been running in Comic Fire since May 2022 and has reached eight collected volumes.

The story follows Elizabeth after her downfall. She relocates to the Yutear Empire where she systematically gathers power using seven distinct grimoires, all aimed at dismantling her former homeland. J-Novel Club currently licenses both the original novel and the manga adaptation for English readers. This major announcement was timed just ahead of Anime Next.
