The sequel anime feature, Poupelle of Chimney Town ~Yakusoku no Tokeidai~, has confirmed its international prestige, securing a slot at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival. The news arrived alongside the release of the official poster, which highlights protagonists Lubicchi and Mofu against the backdrop of the mysterious clock tower.
The film will hold its world premiere at the Berlinale between February 12 and 22. It secured a slot in the Generation section and is competing for the Crystal Bear Award in the Generation KPlus category. Landing a spot at the Berlinale, which sits alongside Cannes and Venice in prestige, puts this youth-focused anime in serious company.
