The wait for the conclusion of One-Punch Man Season 3 just got significantly longer. Bandai Namco Filmworks officially confirmed that the second cour, designated Part 2, is now scheduled to air sometime in 2027. This announcement follows the recent conclusion of Part 1, which wrapped its broadcast run on December 28.
Part 1, which aired starting October 12, faced considerable fan scrutiny regarding animation consistency. These concerns were largely attributed to production challenges at J.C. Staff, the studio handling the season. The decision to push Part 2 back to 2027 strongly suggests the production committee is utilizing this extended window specifically to address those quality concerns and ensure a higher standard for the highly anticipated continuation of the series.
Crucially, J.C. Staff is still slated to return as the animation studio for Part 2. New teaser materials released alongside the date reveal heavily hint at the central focus of the upcoming episodes: the massive, long-awaited confrontation between Saitama and Garou. Fans have been anticipating this fight since the arc began, and the updated visuals are clearly building toward that clash.

On the production side, Shinpei Nagai is directing the season, with Tomohiro Suzuki returning as the series composer. Character designer Chikashi Kubota is joined by newcomers Shinjiro Kuroda and Ryōsuke Shirakawa for the visual direction. The anime continues to adapt the ongoing manga by ONE and Yūsuke Murata, which saw its 32nd volume release in December 2025.
In related news, the franchise is also expanding into physical events. An exhibition featuring original animation drawings, exclusive merchandise, and photo opportunities is set to run from June 26 through July 20, 2026, at the Ikebukskie Sunshine 60 Observatory Tenbou-Park in Tokyo.
