The dedicated One Piece: Heroines anime special is officially set to premiere on July 5, 2026. The broadcast will air at 11:15 p.m. JST, taking over the franchise's usual time slot on Fuji TV.
This confirmation arrived Thursday via the official One Piece website, alongside a new key visual featuring Nami prominently surrounded by other characters. The special is titled 'episode: NAMI' and begins the adaptation of the light novel series penned by Jun Esaka and illustrated by Sayaka Suwa. Those stories originally ran in One Piece Magazine starting in 2019 before Shueisha collected the first volume in 2021.
Haruka Kamatani, known for work on Koisuru One Piece, is directing the special. Takashi Kojima, who worked on Monsters: 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation, is handling character designs, and Momoka Toyoda is writing the scripts. Early reports suggest the special will include some anime-original scenes, specifically showing Nico Robin appearing alongside Nami, Vivi, and Perona.
Viz Media released the first novel in the US last April, which includes standalone stories focusing on Nami’s fashion show and Vivi’s surprise love letter plotline. The second volume, One Piece novel HEROINES [Colorful], arrived in Japan this March, with the English translation following in July.

This spinoff was first announced during One Piece Day '25 last year and joins a growing list of bite-sized Straw Hat side stories. Fans waiting on Wit Studio's main series remake will see this heroine-focused project air first.
