The second installment of the trilogy, Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club The Movie – Finale – Chapter 2, is set to hit Southeast Asian theaters this month following its initial premiere in Japan in November 2025.
Screenings for the film begin in Indonesia on January 14. The movie will then open in Malaysia and Singapore on January 15. Fans in the Philippines can catch the theatrical release starting January 21.
For those in the Philippines looking for an early look, ODEX confirmed a special fan event screening scheduled for January 10. The event will take place at 4 PM at SM Mall of Asia.
Tickets for this special screening are priced at PHP 1,550 and include a bundle of exclusive imported merchandise. The bundle features a random mini shikishi artboard, a photo style card, a PR card, a tote bag, and an A3 poster.

Chapter 2 focuses on six members of the club: Karin, Ai, Setsuna, Rina, Shioriko, and Mia. They participate in the School Idol GPX competition, where the goal is to be crowned the top "oshi" school idol. Their journey takes the group through the Kansai region, specifically hitting locations like Kyoto, Osaka, and Kobe.
The plot introduces Mia’s older sister, Chloe Taylor, and also follows Nana Nakagawa, who performs as Setsuna Yuki, as she harbors undisclosed concerns.
This film continues the narrative established across two TV seasons, which aired in 2020 and 2022, and a 2023 OVA. The first movie in the trilogy arrived in September 2024. That film featured Kerorira, the character designer known for Bocchi the Rock!, serving as the visual director.
The Nijigasaki branch of the Love Live! franchise continues its distinct focus on solo performances and deep character arcs, differentiating it from the large-group focus seen in other installments.
