Toei Animation officially confirmed a new Dragon Ball Super anime series, titled The Galactic Patrol, is moving forward. The announcement came yesterday during the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri 2026 event held at Makuhari Messe in Japan, signaling the franchise's return to television following the Tournament of Power arc.
Goku voice actress Masako Nozawa and executive producer Akio Iyoku made the reveal. They unveiled a teaser visual showing Goku and Vegeta wearing their Galactic Patrol uniforms.
This new series is set to adapt the highly anticipated Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, commonly known as the Moro arc, from the manga source material. The plot will see Goku and Vegeta joining forces with the Galactic Patrol, including characters like Jaco, to track down dangerous escaped convicts. Their primary target is the powerful wizard Moro, who poses a significant threat to Super Saiyans due to his ability to drain energy.

Akira Toriyama’s foundational work, including story contributions and character designs, remains central to the project, honoring his legacy following his passing in March 2024. While production is underway, fans should anticipate a wait for the premiere. Industry timelines currently suggest a potential release sometime in late 2027 or later.
The anniversary celebration also confirmed a separate Dragon Ball Super: Beerus TV anime remake scheduled for Fall 2026. Additionally, a new game project, codenamed Project AGE 1000, is targeting a 2027 launch. The event clearly marked a massive ramp-up for the Dragon Ball franchise across all media.
