The TV anime adaptation of the yuri romance manga The Moon on a Rainy Night has finally moved forward, confirming its main creative staff and releasing the first teaser visual. This significant update arrived recently on December 29, 2025.
Studio CompTown is handling the production. Tomoe Makino is set to direct the series. Shogo Yasukawa is overseeing the scripts and series composition duties, while Ayumi Nishibata is responsible for the character designs. These roles round out the core creative leadership announced for the project.

In addition to the initial teaser visual, the announcement featured a special collaboration piece showing the main cast alongside characters from A Mangaka's Weirdly Wonderful Workplace. This series joins a growing list of yuri adaptations heading to television.
What remains completely unknown is the premiere window. At the time of reporting, neither the studio nor the production committee has attached the anime to a specific season. That release information is still pending, but fans can expect a full trailer or a confirmed air date sometime in the new year.
