The highly anticipated anime series, A Misanthrope Teaches a Class for Demi-Humans, is generating significant interest ahead of its scheduled January 2026 debut. Recent announcements have confirmed crucial production details, including a lineup of new voice actors and the artist responsible for performing the opening theme song.

This adaptation promises a compelling narrative that blends supernatural elements, school drama, and deep emotional exploration. The story centers on Rei Hitoma, a self-professed cynic, who is tasked with educating demihuman students at the prestigious Shiranui Private High School. His primary objective is to prepare these young girls for successful integration into human society.

Now entering his second year of teaching, Hitoma faces his most demanding challenge yet. His incoming class includes three particularly unique students: a formidable dragon, a shy mouse, and a mischievous black cat. These new personalities threaten to disrupt the delicate equilibrium he has established, forcing him to confront and potentially revise his deeply held misanthropic perspectives.

Akira Iwanaga directs the series at Studio Asread, working from series composition scripts provided by Katsuhiko Takayama.
