The production team for the upcoming TV anime Tune In to the Midnight Heart has confirmed two significant additions to its cast, revealing the voices behind a key bandmate and a top VTuber talent.
Yuki Wakai will voice Aiko, who is established as Rikka Inohana's long-time bandmate and close friend. Veteran Nao Toyama is set to play Ao Hyakusai, noted as the top talent within the VTuber group Blue-Box. Both actresses acknowledged their new roles via video messages.
Wakai, a member of the idol group iRis, previously held roles such as Leona West in PriPara and Miharu Kiryu in Witch Watch. Toyama joins the cast ready to lend her established presence to the VTuber ace character.
This new pair joins the already announced ensemble cast, which includes Momoko Seto as Rikka Inohana, Rumi Okubo as Nene Himekawa, Sayumi Suzushiro as Iko Kirino, Miku Ito as Shinobu Uzuki, Rikuya Yasuda as the lead Arisu Yamabuki, and Kana Hanazawa as Lemon Ando. Ayane Sakura was previously featured in early character promotional videos for the series.
The anime adaptation is slated to begin airing in January 2026. Masayuki Takahashi, known for Butareba: The Story of a Man Turned into a Pig, is directing the series at studio Gekkō. Yukie Sugawara (Overlord) is handling the series composition duties, with Tomoyuki Shitaya (Food Wars!, Bakuman.) managing the character designs.

The source material is the manga by Masakuni Igarashi, which runs on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket and K Manga platforms. The story centers on high schooler Arisu Yamabuki, who once found solace listening to late-night radio host Apollo. Now in the broadcasting club, he teams up with several voice-obsessed girls—singer hopeful Rikka, voice actress dreamer Nene, VTuber aspirant Iko, and announcer wannabe Shinobu—to track down Apollo's true identity.
