
The weekly Japanese video game sales report for the period of December 15th through the 21st confirmed Mario Kart World is holding its dominant position, moving another 85,247 units. This robust performance pushes the title past the 2.4 million lifetime sales mark in Japan.
The top three remained tightly contested, though the gap between the first and second spots widened slightly this week. Pokémon Legends: Z-A secured the second position, shifting 54,096 copies, bringing its total sales just shy of 958,000 units. Kirby Air Riders rounded out the top three, selling 49,220 units and reaching 377,044 total copies since its November launch.

Nintendo’s hardware continues to control the market, with the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 platforms accounting for every single title in the top fifteen during this tracking period.
Further down the charts, Momotaro Dentetsu 2 showed exceptional strength, managing to grab both the fifth and sixth positions with sales of 26,323 and 22,898 units, respectively. Minecraft held steady at eighth place with 16,038 copies sold, while Animal Crossing: New Horizons landed tenth after moving 13,352 units.
A new title, Yūkyū Fantasia Revival, debuted at eleventh place, selling 11,263 copies in its first week. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment charted twelfth this week.
The anime tie-in Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 managed to secure 18th place. The title sold 7,387 copies this week, bringing its overall sales total to 166,272 units. Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake finished up the top twenty at nineteenth.
