Shueisha has launched the English serialization of Nao Iori's manga, Manaka the Human and the Slaughter Robot, on its global MANGA Plus platform. The series, known in Japan as Satsuriku Robo to Hito no Manaka, debuted simultaneously with the Japanese release on January 27, 2026.
The manga earned its publication by winning the Grand Prize during Shueisha's Serialization Audition in 2022, securing its immediate publication. Initial reader reception has been strong, with the first chapter quickly accumulating over 35,000 views on MANGA Plus after launch. MyAnimeList already tracks the title as an ongoing shounen series.
Nao Iori is credited for both the writing and the artwork. While the series runs simultaneously on Shonen Jump+ and Jump+ in Japan, reports based on official Jump+ X announcements indicate it might be planned as a shorter run.
The story focuses on high schooler Yui, who strives for mechanical perfection to meet her parents’ strict expectations. Her rigidly controlled existence is immediately challenged when she meets a half-robot girl who is far more emotionally volatile and dangerous than she appears.

Readers can check out the first chapter now, available for free on MANGA Plus. There has been no announcement regarding an anime adaptation at the time of reporting.
