Netflix has released a new preview for the upcoming anime series Love Through a Prism, giving fans a first look inside the Saint Thomas Art Academy. The clip, titled 'Welcome to Saint Thomas Art Academy,' sets the stage for protagonist Lili Ichijoin’s intense academic challenges at the elite London campus.
The preview features Lili receiving a tour of the sprawling, castle-like grounds from an enthusiastic student named Dorothy. Lili takes in the sights, including the sculpture rooms and the courtyard used for stained glass lessons. Dorothy quickly offers a reality check, warning Lili about the sheer volume of work, which ranges from basic sketches to advanced professional classes, inter-school assignments, and brutal critique sessions. Lili immediately acknowledges the overwhelming workload she faces as a Japanese exchange student arriving in early 1900s England.
The series is set to premiere globally on Netflix on January 15, 2026. The core plot centers on Lili chasing her painting ambitions under the strict condition that she must finish at the top of her class within six months or be sent home by her parents.
The project comes from Yoko Kamio, the creator behind Boys Over Flowers, who is handling character drafts and co-writing the script. Lili's journey becomes complicated when she encounters Kit Church, an aloof aristocratic painter voiced by Koki Uchiyama. Lili’s persistent grit begins to chip away at Kit’s reserved exterior, drawn in by his undeniable talent. Atsumi Tanezaki is voicing Lili.

WIT Studio is handling the animation. Kazuto Nakazawa, known for his work on the Kill Bill anime segment and B: The Beginning, is serving as director. The production is expected to feature lush depictions of London and plenty of dramatic flair. Kamio has expressed hope that the blend of romance, courage, and art school rivalry will resonate with viewers who might be feeling discouraged about their own fading dreams.
