Yasuhisa Hara’s historical epic Kingdom will continue its anime run. The announcement for a seventh season dropped immediately after the conclusion of Season 6’s broadcast today on NHK General in Japan.

Season 6, which began airing October 4, 2025, covered the critical Gyou Campaign arc. This massive strategic battle pitted Qin forces, led by generals Ou Sen, Kan Ki, and Yo Tan Wa, against Zhao’s brilliant strategist Li Mu. Xin and the Fei Xin Force continued to fight on the front lines, carrying the legacy of the late Wang Yi.

Animation duties for this run were split between Studio Pierrot and Studio Signpost. Kenichi Imaizumi directed the series, with Noboru Takagi overseeing series composition. Character designs were managed by Hisashi Abe, and the score was composed by Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto.

The season featured Ikimono-gakari's 'Ikite, Sansan' as the opening theme and Sora Tomonari’s 'Hoko' as the ending track. New cast members included Koji Takeda as Ako, Dai Matsumoto as Mako, Shinnosuke Tachibana as Akakin, Yoshino Nanjo as Kitari, and Masaaki Mizunaka voicing Katari.

The anime adaptation began in 2012 with 38 episodes, followed by Season 2 in 2013 (39 episodes). Subsequent seasons (S3, S4, S5) each ran for 13 episodes, bringing the current total episode count to 132. All episodes are available for streaming via Crunchyroll.

The source manga, serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump since 2006, continues to be highly successful, surpassing 110 million copies in circulation. Volume 77 is scheduled for October 17, following the release of Volume 76. VIZ Media is scheduled to begin releasing the manga in English starting November 2025. The live-action film series also continues, with four installments released and a fifth planned for summer 2026.
