Furthermore, investigations revealed an additional outflow of around 100 million yen (approximately US$681,000) resulting from the improper authorization of outsourcing fees to a business partner for services that were never actually rendered. Upon the internal discovery of these illicit activities, GungHo swiftly established an independent audit team to conduct a thorough investigation, underscoring its commitment to uncovering the full extent of the fraud.

In response to this grave breach of trust, GungHo Online Entertainment is implementing robust enhancements to its corporate governance framework to prevent future occurrences. These proactive measures include fortifying compliance education programs, refining internal approval protocols for external orders, and significantly boosting monitoring and internal audit capabilities.
