Bandai Namco Filmworks confirmed today that the 1988 Guns N’ Roses hit, “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” will serve as the ending theme for the second film in the trilogy, Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe. The movie premiered in Japanese theaters today. This major music placement leans heavily into the emotional core of the story, matching the song's themes of longing with Hathaway Noa’s internal struggle regarding Gigi Andalucia.
The classic rock track is a global juggernaut, having topped US charts upon release and currently sitting above 2.1 billion views on its official YouTube video. A promotional trailer featuring the song is set to drop this coming Monday, February 2.
SZA’s “Snooze” is handling the opening theme slot. SennaRin is also performing the insert song “ENDROLL” alongside Yōhei Kawakami of Alexandros.

This film follows the 2021 opener, which focused on visceral mobile suit action and character development. While core staff and returning cast members are back for the second installment, new additions to the voice lineup were confirmed. These include Hiroshi Shirokuma as Brinks Wedge and Anna Nagase as Julia Suga, alongside Mahana Yamasaki and Hinata Satō.
International releases are expected to follow the initial Japan run. For fans catching up, a four-episode TV re-cut of the project began airing on Nippon TV back on January 5. Hathaway, the son of Bright Noa, remains central to the plot as he directs MAFTY’s anti-Federation attacks while grappling with Gigi’s strange influence and the lingering trauma from Char’s Rebellion.
