The GTO spinoff manga focusing on Vice Principal Hiroshi Uchiyamada, titled GTU: Ikari no Death Yamada, has concluded its serialization. The dimension-hopping story wrapped up on HERO'S INC.'s Comiplex digital site this past Friday, ending a run that began in October 2024.
Creator Tohru Fujisawa delivered a darker, more fantastical narrative than the original school comedy. The plot followed Uchiyamada on a surreal trip through Kabukicho as he searched for his missing student, Nanami, only to become trapped in a bizarre nightmare scenario.

The series concluded in under 16 months, suggesting a planned narrative arc from Fujisawa. Fans can secure the complete story when HERO'S releases the third and final collected volume on March 5.
This Uchiyamada story is one component of the active GTO franchise. While the main GTO series ended in 2002 across 25 volumes, sequels and prequels, including GTO: Shonan 14 Days, have maintained its relevance. The primary sequel, GTO: Paradise Lost Kai, also returned to serialization in April 2024 after a year-long hiatus, confirming continued demand for new material from the nearly 30-year-old property.
Fujisawa continues to explore new angles within the universe, shifting from straightforward comedy to the supernatural horror elements seen in GTU. Attention now turns to what Fujisawa will launch next within the franchise, whether it involves another side story or continuing the Paradise Lost Kai run.
