The final chapter of the Golden Kamuy anime is set to begin, and anticipation spiked with the release of a striking new key visual just days before the January 5 broadcast debut. The artwork is intense, showing the entire main cast surrounded by fire, signaling the massive climax of the saga is imminent. The visual carries the bold message, "The Final Chapter, Grandly Begins."
The premiere will air starting January 5 at 11:00 PM JST on channels including TOKYO MX, Yomiuri TV, Hokkaido Broadcasting, and BS11.
Brain’s Base continues handling animation duties, following their work on the previous season. Key staff are returning, with Shizutaka Sugahara as chief director, Takumi Yamakawa handling character designs, and Noboru Takagi managing series composition.
Satoru Noda’s source manga ran in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump from 2014 through 2022. The story chronicles the brutal quest for hidden Ainu gold in Hokkaido, led by Russo-Japanese War veteran Saichi 'Immortal' Sugimoto and the Ainu girl Asirpa. The series is known for its unique blend of survival, historical detail, and memorable gourmet segments.

The manga has sold over 30 million copies and secured major accolades, including the 2016 Manga Taisho and the 22nd Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize Grand Prize.
The anime adaptation first launched in April 2018, with Geno Studio handling the first three seasons before Brain’s Base took over for season four, which concluded last June after a brief pause. Japanese fans recently saw the theatrical preview Golden Kamuy: Sapporo Beer Koujo-hen screen in October 2025. The second live-action film, Golden Kamuy: Abashiri Kangoku Shuugeki-hen, is set for release on March 13, 2026.
A New Year's campaign is running on X for Japanese fans until 10:59 PM JST on January 5. Participants can post aspirations using #金賀新年ゴールデンカムイ最終章1月5日放送開始 via the official page for a chance to win one of three special images.
