A new battle promo video has landed for the upcoming Gintama compilation feature, Shin-Gekijōban Gintama: Yoshiwara Daienjō. The clip focuses squarely on the brutal confrontation between Kagura and Shinpachi against Abuto, the vice-commander of Harusame's Seventh Division. This footage, streaming ahead of the February 13 premiere in Japan, showcases the raw Yato-on-Yato fighting ripped straight from the critical Yoshiwara arc.
The promo shows Abuto dominating the Yorozuya pair, forcing Shinpachi to yell out that he will shield Kagura even when they are clearly outmatched. This moment serves as the trigger, as Kagura then unleashes her full fury for her crew, hinting at the massive fights still to come in the feature.
This new compilation is remaking episodes 139 through 146 of the original anime, but with entirely fresh animation sequences. BN Pictures is handling the animation work on this project. They have also confirmed the addition of the anime-original character Enkaku, Hosen's aide, who is voiced by Kappei Yamaguchi.

The film is part of the larger 20th-anniversary push for Gintama, which originally launched its manga back in 2003. These compilation features are setting the stage for the announced Kintama-hen film in 2024, followed by Shinsengumi and Kabukicho runs slated for 2025.
On the release day, a tie-in novel will also be available. The production team confirmed post-release stage greetings featuring the main cast.
Hideaki Sorachi’s series officially wrapped up in 2019, having sold over 73 million copies worldwide. The Yoshiwara arc itself centers on the dark pleasure district ruled by the Night King Hosen, providing the backdrop for one of Gintoki and the gang's wildest showdowns.
