Toei Animation has confirmed the return of Dragon Ball Super in Fall 2026, but it will arrive as a completely revamped project titled Dragon Ball Super: Beerus. This is not a simple remaster; producers are calling it a version that "begins anew," heavily focused on Akira Toriyama’s original concepts.
The project includes substantial new cuts, redrawn scenes, full re-rendering of every frame, fresh voice dubbing, and upgraded sound effects. The clear aim is cutting-edge visuals, specifically emphasizing Beerus’s god-level fights.
The story is set years after the defeat of Majin Buu. Earth’s quiet period shatters when Beerus, the God of Destruction, awakens from his long sleep. After the Kais begin trembling over his planet-busting capabilities, Beerus tracks down Goku, leading directly into the universe-shaking showdown with the Z-Fighters.

Akira Toriyama is credited with the original work, story, and character designs. While a full voice cast has not been released, fans should expect the core returning actors for Goku and Vegeta.
Trailers released on Toei’s YouTube channels are heavily promoting these significant upgrades, promising closer fidelity to the manga roots. The official website, dragonball-super.com, is expected to launch soon ahead of the Fall 2026 premiere.
