The Dragon Ball Super anime is officially getting a major overhaul. A fully enhanced remake of the initial arc, titled Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, is slated to premiere on Fuji TV in Fall 2026. The news broke yesterday, January 25, 2026, during the franchise’s 40th-anniversary celebration at the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event held at Makuhari Messe in Japan.
Capsule Corp president Akio Iyoku and Beerus's voice actor, Koichi Yamadera, made the official unveiling. Iyoku confirmed that development on this project has been underway for years. This is not a simple remaster; reports indicate extensive new cuts, completely re-rendered footage, revised scenes, fresh dubbing, and added musical scores are being implemented.
The stated goal is to align the adaptation more closely with Akira Toriyama’s original manga vision, using cutting-edge visuals to ramp up the intensity of the battles. The teaser trailer showcased a significantly sharper look for Goku’s Super Saiyan God fight against Beerus, reportedly echoing the visual quality established in Dragon Ball Super: Broly.

Toei Animation is handling the production, following their recent work on the One Piece Fish-Man Island remake. Voice actress Masako Nozawa expressed her enthusiasm live, noting this enhanced edition is intended to correct pacing issues from the original broadcast and build hype for subsequent sagas like Moro.
The story will kick off with Beerus arriving on Earth looking for the Saiyan who defeated Frieza, setting up the cosmic confrontation. Fans noted visual cues referencing the God Ritual, Vegeta’s powerful Super Saiyan 2 transformation during the fight, and the pivotal moment where Bulma’s slap triggers Beerus’s rage.
While specific episode counts and international distribution plans remain undisclosed at the time of reporting, the series is confirmed to air in Fall 2026.
