Detective Conan Unveils First Two-Hour Special in a Decade, Drops Trailer for 'Episode Zero' Prequel

The Detective Conan production team has confirmed several major announcements tied to the franchise's 30th anniversary, including the first new two-hour TV special in ten years. This significant feature, titled Detective Conan: 30-gō Satsujin Jiken (#30 Murder Case), is set to present an entirely original narrative penned by writer Takeharu Sakurai.

Fans also received a look at a trailer for another upcoming feature, the one-hour prequel special titled Episode “ZERO” — The Shinichi Kudo Aquarium Case.

This prequel is slated to air in Japan on January 3, 2026. At the time of reporting, Crunchyroll is confirmed to stream the special.
