The supernatural action series Dead Account has officially hit its halfway point. The Winter 2026 adaptation dropped its fifth episode on Saturday, February 7, 2026, maintaining its weekly slot on TV Asahi’s IMAnimation block.
This release confirms the 12-episode run for the adaptation by SynergySP, based on the manga by Shizumu Watanabe. The narrative stakes have dramatically escalated for protagonist Soji Enishiro, who gained the power of cyberkinesis—the ability to control digital spirits—while desperately seeking funds for his sister Akari’s medical care.
The core conflict shifted when it was revealed Akari was not a victim of illness but was murdered by a powerful Ghost Account. This revelation has put Soji on a direct collision course with the digital afterlife, moving his mission from financial necessity to vengeance.
The series premise centers on these 'ghost accounts,' which are social media profiles of the deceased that manifest as specters capable of causing real-world damage. Soji is currently accelerating his training at Miden Academy, the secret school for spirit mediums, as threats stemming from the online afterlife continue to escalate. Cyberkinesis users like Soji are rare and largely untrained, making the balance between the digital and physical realms precarious.

Since its January 10 premiere, the anime has pulled in solid early metrics, currently sitting at a 6.44 score on MyAnimeList from nearly 2,900 users.
The production team includes TV Asahi and Kodansha among the main collaborators. Keiya Saitō is directing the series, with Mitsutaka Hirota handling composition. Fans can stream Episode 5 now via Crunchyroll, with the remaining episodes set to air every Saturday at 23:30 JST as the series moves toward its conclusion.
