Tokico Kirishiki’s crime-focused Boys' Love manga, Hana no Akuta, is officially receiving a remake titled Hana no Akuta -Re;bloom-. The new version is set to release in Spring 2026. The announcement arrived alongside a sharp animated trailer that showcased intense visuals and explicit scenes, immediately drawing attention back to the yaoi narrative.
The trailer production was handled by animation circle LuneSoupe. LuneSoupe is known for their previous work on the opening sequence for Nukitashi The Animation and a recent promotional video for the adult doujin Isekai Trip Saki de Tasukete kureta no wa Hitogoroshi no Shonen deshita.
Voice talent confirmed for the trailer includes Girigi Lee voicing Tsubaki and Mikado Sumeragi as Kajiro.
The core plot follows Tsubaki, who holds a high-ranking position within a crime syndicate while secretly operating as an undercover police officer. He successfully infiltrates the Soga gang, but the successor, Kajiro, quickly sees through Tsubaki’s deception. Kajiro exploits Tsubaki’s volatile nature, allowing him to channel his violent urges through sexual encounters. As the relationship deepens, Tsubaki finds himself increasingly unsettled by Kajiro’s own hidden complexities and motives.

The original Hana no Akuta first appeared in December 2018 under Charles Comics. This remake brings renewed focus to the story just as an adult spin-off, previously announced, is scheduled for release between 2025 and early 2026.
Social media reaction to the trailer has been strong, with readers praising LuneSoupe’s dynamic animation style. While this trailer promotes the manga’s return, there has been no confirmation of a full anime adaptation at the time of reporting.
