Code Geass Confirms All-New Anime Series and TV Premiere for 'Rozé of the Recapture' to Launch Massive 20th Anniversary Celebration

The globally recognized Code Geass franchise has initiated a major celebration for its 20th anniversary, operating under the banner, "Road to Code Geass 20th Year." This comprehensive initiative, officially announced on December 7, 2025, outlines a schedule of new content, significant events, and unique collaborations extending throughout 2026.
Commencement Event and New Anime Production
The commemoration is set to begin with a high-profile memorial event scheduled for Belle Salle Shinjuku Grand in Tokyo. This gathering will feature key voice actors from the series, including Jun Fukuyama (Lelouch Lamperouge), Kohei Amasaki (Rozé), and Makoto Furukawa (Ash). Attendees are expected to debut a new reading drama and provide immediate updates regarding the franchise’s future trajectory.
A central element of the new programming is the confirmed production of a completely original Code Geass anime series. The project will be directed by Kazuya Nomura, known for his work on Joker Game, with series composition managed by Madoka Nozaki, recognized for critical successes such as The Right Answer and Babylon. The visual direction will feature character designs by Rolua and distinctive Agarmata mechanical designs crafted by Yoshi., ensuring a fresh aesthetic for the iconic mecha action.
Expanding Accessibility and Collectibles
In a move designed to significantly increase global accessibility, the 12-episode cinematic series Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture, which premiered in theaters in 2024, is scheduled for a major television broadcast beginning in July 2026. Currently, this series is exclusive to Disney+, and the upcoming TV run will allow a broader audience to experience the latest chapter in the saga.

Furthermore, the anniversary project includes new merchandise for collectors. Bandai Spirits is preparing to launch a high-grade (HG) plastic model kit of the Nightmare Frame prominently featured in the Rozé storyline.
Cross-Cultural Collaborations and Exhibition
The anniversary project also emphasizes expansive cultural outreach through several unique partnerships. A notable collaboration will see Code Geass partner with Mobile Suit Gundam Wing for a commemorative manga project, penned by Satoshi Ogasawara. This collaboration simultaneously celebrates Gundam Wing’s own 30th milestone in 2025.
Adding a contemporary dimension, the franchise is integrating with the VTuber community. The original Knightmare Frame "Vincent Hawke," which was designed for promotional ambassador Takamine Rui (of Hololive Production), is scheduled for a limited-time appearance in the popular mobile game Super Robot Wars DD.
The extensive celebration is set to conclude with the "Code Geass 20th Anniversary Exhibition," which is slated to open in Tokyo in September 2026 before moving to Osaka in November 2026. This exhibition will offer dedicated fans an immersive look at the two-decade history of this influential anime powerhouse.
