Highly Anticipated Fantasy Anime 'Champignon no Majo' Unveils New Voice Cast and Theme Song Artists Ahead of 2026 Debut

The upcoming TV anime adaptation of Tachibana Higuchi’s fantasy manga, Champignon no Majo, is generating significant attention as it solidifies its creative foundation ahead of its highly anticipated January 2026 premiere. The production committee recently announced key additions to the voice cast, who are set to bring the series' intricate magical world to life.
Expanded Voice Cast Revealed
These newly revealed supporting roles feature some of the industry’s most versatile voices. Jun Fukushima is confirmed to voice Claude, while Emiri Katou takes on the role of Minos. Adding to the ensemble are Miho Okasaki as Merino and Misato Fukuen as Sisi. They will join the previously announced main cast, which includes Haruka Shiraishi as Luna, the titular, misunderstood "Mushroom Witch," and Yuki Sakakihara as Lize, the mysterious young boy whose destiny intertwines with hers. This powerhouse cast promises to deliver performances that capture the full emotional range of Higuchi’s intricate narrative.
Musical Themes and Production Staff
Complementing the on-screen talent is a strong musical lineup. The series will feature the opening theme, "Maho Tsukai no Nikki" (The Witch’s Diary), performed by the dynamic artist ROSU. Meanwhile, Ms.OOJA is set to provide the reflective ending theme, "Kimi wa," ensuring the atmosphere of wonder and melancholy is perfectly underscored.
The creative stewardship of the anime is in highly capable hands. Directing the adaptation is Yosuke Kubo, renowned for his nuanced approach in works like Dahlia in Bloom. The crucial task of scripting falls to Yuko Kakihara, a veteran writer whose credits include celebrated narratives such as The Apothecary Diaries, guaranteeing a smooth and engaging story flow. Character designs are handled by Miki Matsumoto of Major 2nd: Season 2 fame, promising designs that are both faithful to the source and visually appealing. Animation production is a joint venture between Typhoon Graphics and Qzil.la, both committed to delivering high-quality visuals that honor the manga's unique tone.

The original manga, serialized on Hakusensha's Manga Park since 2019, has already compiled six compelling tankobon volumes as of December 2024. The story centers on Luna, burdened by the fearsome moniker "Champignon Witch" due to the inexplicable growth of poisonous mushrooms in her vicinity. This narrative expertly weaves together elements of folklore, magical adventure, and profound emotional discovery. With a distinguished production staff, evocative musical selections, and an expanded cast of seasoned voice actors, Champignon no Majo is shaping up to be a cornerstone release for the winter 2026 anime schedule, slated for broadcast on TBS and other networks.
