Chainsaw Man Stage Production Ignites Summer 2026 with Explosive Reze Arc Adaptation

Tatsuki Fujimoto’s influential manga, Chainsaw Man, is scheduled for a significant return to live theatrical entertainment. Following the considerable success of the recent cinematic production, Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc, producers have officially confirmed the development of 'Chainsaw Man The Stage.' This new adaptation is set to present the intense narrative of the Reze Arc, debuting in the summer of 2026 with performances planned across Tokyo and Kyoto.
This highly anticipated live production intends to faithfully recreate the arc’s defining moments, immersing theatergoers in the complex and volatile dynamic between the protagonist Denji and the enigmatic Bomb Devil, Reze. The story blends elements of intense romance, espionage, and large-scale action, reflecting the source material's signature tone.
Returning Creative Team Confirmed
To ensure continuity in the innovative theatrical approach established in the previous production, the core creative personnel are returning. Fumiya Matsuzaki will once again serve in the dual capacity of writer and director. His role involves translating the manga’s characteristic chaotic energy and hybrid devil combat into a visceral stage experience. Composer Shunsuke Wada is also returning to create a pulsating soundtrack designed to synchronize with the on-stage action, while acclaimed choreographer HIDALI will engineer the demanding action sequences. Their collective expertise aims to deliver live combat choreography that maintains the visceral impact observed in both the manga and the anime adaptation.
Driving the performance is Naotake Tsuchiya, who will reprise his central role as Denji, the impoverished, chainsaw-wielding hybrid whose desperate pursuit of a conventional life forms the emotional foundation of the story. Tsuchiya expressed his strong commitment to the project, noting his enthusiasm to revisit the critical Reze storyline and further explore the boundaries of stage expression. This specific arc is recognized as pivotal for Denji’s character development, and Tsuchiya has indicated that his performance will be characterized by significant emotional and physical demands.

Spearheaded by the publishing entity Shueisha, the original publisher of the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump, this stage venture further solidifies Chainsaw Man's extensive presence across various media platforms. The Reze Arc is particularly noted for its dark romantic undertones juxtaposed against explosive action, introducing one of the series' most intricate and memorable antagonists. As the global fanbase, still engaged by the intensity of the first anime season, awaits further details regarding casting and promotional materials, the 2026 stage event is positioned to be a significant theatrical spectacle within the realm of manga adaptations.
