The production team for the Blue Box anime has dropped the second 'Blue' visual for the upcoming second season, offering fans a festive look as the Fall 2026 premiere approaches. This new artwork features a Christmas tree illuminated inside an auditorium, maintaining the cool aesthetic the series is known for. Illustrator Rei Kato is credited with handling this specific piece of art.
This visual follows the confirmation at Jump Festa 2026 that Season 2 is officially slated for a Fall 2026 broadcast window. The first season aired across two full cours, beginning its run on October 3, 2024, and covering the initial high school relationship hurdles and badminton action.
The imagery references themes from Koji Miura’s original manga, centering on protagonist Taiki’s ongoing pursuit of his athletic goals while simultaneously navigating his feelings for Chinatsu. Viz Media’s synopsis highlights the core dynamic: Taiki’s encouragement for Chinatsu to never abandon her aspirations is what ultimately sparks their romance.
Miura first launched the series as a one-shot in 2020 before moving to weekly serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2021. The manga has reached 23 collected volumes as of December 2025.

Key production staff and the main voice cast are confirmed to be returning for the new season. Yuichiro Yano, known for directing Lupin the III Part 5, is back in the director's chair. Yuko Kakihara, who worked on The Apothecary Diaries, is handling the scripts, with character designs managed by Miho Tanino, who recently finished work on Blue Thermal. Production duties remain with Telecom Animation Film.
The main voice cast includes Shoya Chiba as Taiki, Reina Ueda as Chinatsu, Akari Kitou as Hina, Chiaki Kobayashi as Kyo Kasahara, and Yuma Uchida as Kengo Haryu. The official update was shared via the series’ X account, @aonohako_PR, suggesting more promotional material will arrive as the Fall 2026 premiere draws closer.
