Blue Box Manga Nearing End, Confirms Author Miura; Anime Season 2 Set for Fall 2026

Manga artist Kouji Miura confirmed that his hit sports-romance series Blue Box is moving toward its conclusion, using the cautious phrasing that it is "probably" ending soon. This news arrives alongside the official confirmation that the Blue Box anime adaptation will return for Season 2, set to air in Fall 2026.

The series has been a staple in Weekly Shōnen Jump since April 2021 and currently sits at 23 collected volumes as of late 2025. The first season, which ran from October 2024 through March 2025, was highly successful, securing the Crunchyroll Anime Award for Best Romance in 2025 and winning multiple prizes at the Japan Expo Awards.

Miura’s use of the word "probably" keeps the exact timeline open, but it signals that the final chapters are approaching. With the anime adapting the source material at a consistent pace and Season 2 locked in for Fall 2026, fans are now watching closely to see how much manga material will be available for that next adaptation run.

The manga has achieved strong commercial success, moving over 6.2 million copies worldwide. Viz Media handles the English print release, while Shueisha’s MANGA Plus platform provides digital access globally.

The anime production was handled by TMS Entertainment and Telecom Animation Film, with the next season scheduled to broadcast on TBS.

Blue Box centers on Taiki Inomata, a dedicated member of the boys' badminton team at Eimei Junior and Senior High. The story follows his developing feelings for Chinatsu Kano, a senior on the basketball team whom he trains alongside daily.
